How we got this data
We collected this data with the Ujeebu web scraping API, which fetches and renders public pages and returns the fields we need as structured data. The same API is available to you for your own collections.

Methodology and known limits
What we price. A basket of popular products in typical Black Friday categories, fixed on Oct 4 so every week compares the same items: 222 of them priced on both days compared here, at Barnes & Noble, Costco, Lenovo and Newegg. Each product page is fetched once a day through the Ujeebu API (no sign-in, at most 2 requests at a time), and its price, reference price and savings badge are read and checked against a sane range per product.
What we count. A product is cheaper when its price on Oct 10 is at least 0.5% below its price on Oct 5, pricier when at least 0.5% above. A sale claim is a reference price above the price ("was", "before instant savings", compare-at) or a savings badge on the page. A claim is at its low when the price is the lowest the product had on any collection day since Oct 5. Groups with fewer than 5 products are left out of the chart.
Where this goes. The same basket feeds the Black Friday page (first cut Nov 24, full Nov 30): each product's Black Friday price against its lowest price of the previous 8 weeks.
Known limits
- 6 collection days so far: a short window, so "at its low" means the lowest since Oct 5, not the 8-week low the Black Friday test uses.
- Amazon, Target, Walmart, Best Buy and Home Depot are not in the basket: their terms name price collection, or their pages could not be read through the API without working around bot walls.
- Lenovo pages show no reference price to our collector, so Lenovo has no sale claims; Costco stock is not readable.
- Products were picked from listing pages and sitemaps, not by sales rank, so the basket is popular items, not a sales-weighted index.
- A product with no valid price on either day is left out.
